Interact hosted three days of workshops, demos, and discussions of the contemporary technology ecosystem and the nascent opportunities we see to build and invent. This summer marks the third pilot of the Symposium following our convening in 2022 + 2023 to feature our technologists-in-residence.
The 10 Residents hosted presentations of their research, each of which explored opportunities for our technologies to improve the way we live, play, and work. Their projects ranged from investigations in climate, memory, and the internet, to new lenses on agriculture, religion, and civic agency. Symposium events were hosted across walkable buildings in SF, centering around the Residency demo house.
As with all things Interact, our hope was that this forum shaped the trajectory of your thinking in a distinctly personal and productive way. All residents and attendees were encouraged to be active participants. Interact cares about facilitating sincere engagement with big ideas, and we were excited to have you play an important role in these conversations.

The third and final year of our pilot is an experiment in productively introducing Interact's Residents to the Fellows, partners, and friends in the larger Interact community.
As with all Interact events, we believe that Fellows create a culture and tone that can only be found within the Interact ecosystem. Residents have also been encouraged to invite colleagues, researchers, and prospective collaborators who will be especially valuable in discussion of their work. Many of these attendees are longtime friends of Interact, while others will encounter Interact for the first time. Your attendance is invaluable, and we're psyched to have you!
The 2025 Symposium is supported by Residency Director Alexia Bonatsos, Special Projects Lead Katherine Moore, and Maran Nelson.
Interact is a 501(c)3 technology community and research organization that incubates novel inquiries, collaborations, and introspections with our technologies. Our hope is to increase the agency and humanitarian impact of technologists across disciplines.
